Southport International Festival  

This is the third Southport International Festival and we invite you to be a part of it! 

From 12.30pm on Sunday 4th September 2011, The Procession will walk from the Magistrates Court at the north end of Lord Street along Lord Street, supervised by marshals and the local Police. The Procession will terminate at the Town Hall Gardens. Participants are invited to   register to join the procession to represent their nation. Each country will be  represented by their flag, which will be provided by the organisers. Participants are encouraged to dress in their national costume. Music to lead the procession will be provided by Marshside Brass Band. The Procession will last around 20 minutes.  

The Festival will take place in the Town Hall Gardens, Lord Street. It will commence with a Civic Ceremony. The Festival will then be officially opened by the Lord Mayor of Sefton (to be confirmed). There will be a programme of entertainments and events for children and all the family throughout the afternoon.  

Market Stalls will be available in the Town Hall Gardens for local businesses and organisations with an international dimension to promote their work or sell their goods and services. Stalls booked for food supply by international restaurants or caterers and non-alcoholic drinks will be welcomed, subject to normal health and safety and food hygiene requirements and relevant insurance.  

Local artistes with an international flavour are invited to offer a contribution to the entertainments of the afternoon. These may be musical, drama, dance, craft, art. Involvement must be voluntary, but participants may sell their merchandise and promote their activity. 

Low Cost… high profile 

The charges for participants are modest, thanks to the support of the sponsors.    

Limited space available 

Only a limited number of stalls are available for hire in the Town Hall Gardens. Please book early to avoid disappointment. All bookings are subject to the discretion of the organisers. 

  Vehicle access

There is no parking available at the Town Hall Gardens, but access for stall holders for set up and removal will be available close to the stalls at fixed times.
